Threading is a method of hair removal, originated from South Asia. It shapes/removes unwanted hair. Threading thread is made of cotton or polyester. It rolls to the area of unwanted hair and plucks the hair at the follicle level.

What is “eyebrow threading”?

Threading is method of hair removal originating in Iran, India, Central Asia and China. Eyebrow threading is in contrast to eyebrow waxing, it helps to have more control in shaping and is gentler on the skin.

How does threading work?

Thread is then rolled over unwanted hair, plucking the hair at the follicle level. Unlike tweezing, where single hairs are pulled out one at a time, threading remove short rows of hair. Threading allows more defined shape and can create better definition for eyebrows.

How long does threading last?

Threading lasts for 3-6 weeks. Full growth depends on hair type so it can happen anywhere from 2-6 weeks. You can get it re-threaded as soon as hair is visible over the skin.

Is eyebrow threading painful?

Many of our customers agree that threading causes less discomfort than brow waxing. Because it targets individual hairs, threading keeps skin irritation to a minimum. Excessive pulling on delicate skin around the eyes is eliminated, and for those sensitive to waxing or depilatory products, there is no exposure to irritants.

Yes and no. Though it has found threading is less painful than waxing. Waxing, pain comes from pulling, and stretching of the skin. Threading targets the hair follicle. So the threading pain compares the pain to tweezing.

How long does threading take?

Shaping and cleaning-ups can take anywhere from 5-7 minutes. The upper lip is about 3 minutes; a full face thread takes about 15-20 minutes.
